Need Help Building Your Dream Product/Solution?

It’s no secret to anyone who knows me personally that Collaborizm has had a huge role to play in my epic journey into finding paid work. Finding a job that you love is a difficult task, but finding a job that you love after a large gap in employment is even tougher. In my case, it was due to being diagnosed with epilepsy. It was something that came out-of-the-blue, with no cases of the medical condition within my family. It is just something that happened and something that I had to live with, perhaps for the rest of my life.

Adapting was hard – with the prospect of never working again in the IT industry, earning a living, having a career – in which I had spent years working towards. I eventually resigned to be a homemaker, a mother, and a wife. This may have fulfilled me for a couple of years, but it didn’t last. I wanted to work, I wanted my independence, I had to do something. I knew that I was capable of so much more and decided to do something about it.

I originally came across Collaborizm.com by accident with a simple Google search for projects on which I could collaborate on. My passion has always been creative, with art and creative writing as my forte, and an educational background in Computer Science – with Collaborizm’s claim to “Surface the World’s Hidden Talent”, I knew that I had to dig deeper into the kinds of projects on offer. Their website drew me in. At that stage, they were still relatively new, an online pre-incubator for entrepreneurs, engineers, and creatives; where people like myself, who wanted to join or start a project, could meet and share ideas with people skilled in their own individual fields from all over the world and could develop a prototype. Joining and getting involved in this community was the best decision I ever made.

While on a recent business trip to New York from London, I was honored to be given the opportunity to meet CEO – Steven Reubenstone and several of Collaborizm’s founding members that until then, I had only spoken to online. Based out of an office building in New York City, it was an amazing experience to visit the people behind the platform which launched my career as a writer, meet them face to face and thank them personally for their constant persistence, determination towards their members, and positive influence.

While being shown the various areas of their NY office it was wonderful to hear about their recent successes, such as their half page spread in The New York Times (a must read!) and an upcoming interview for CNBC. It was so nice to see that people who had done so much for me personally were flourishing and gaining so much, well-deserved exposure.

Small moments can shape the rest of your life. Signing up to Collaborizm.com was one of those small moments – it went on to create ripples – forming a huge wave, creating exposure for me as a freelancer. I never thought that joining Collaborizm would lead me to where I am now, yet here I am – a freelance writer, marketer, and online content creator that’s getting paid to do it!

Collaborizm has since gone from being a simple tech pre-incubator, helping people to get ahead, creating many friendships, and developing many ideas through their highly skilled global community, mentors, and funding and has grown into a talent marketplace, in which early-stage entrepreneurs can bring their ideas to life.

The platform works by having community members posting projects and contributing to early-stage tasks (gigs) in a step-by-step fashion. This is the key to finding potential teammates – the ability to get to know other members of the community, to gain knowledge from each other, and to form trust amongst stakeholders to reach a common goal right from the perception of an idea.

The recent addition of the talent marketplace has added a second layer to Collaborizm’s unique platform, allowing entrepreneurs to post jobs and hire freelancers from within the community directly. If you have an interest in software, hardware, or design, enjoy being part of a hard-working and determined community where team-work is optimized, while doing what you love, and earning, there is no reason for you not to check it out!
